About the Therapist

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom."  - Viktor Frankl

I received my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Holistic Studies, from John F. Kennedy University. The degree combines both Transpersonal Psychology and Somatic Psychology, focusing on spirituality and the body, thus giving me a foundation to work with clients on a deeper level.

My passion for counseling stems from my work as an educator. I have worked in both middle and high schools for over ten years holding various positions including English and Religious Studies Teacher, Campus Ministry Coordinator,  Director of Service Learning, and School Counselor. I found that many of my students were seeking more than just a textbook education, they wanted to grow more deeply as a person and questioned the how of life. Earning my masters degree and becoming a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist allows me to take that journey with clients.

As a mom I have an affection for working with parents. The adjustment to parenthood is monumental and can sometimes feel isolating and overwhelming. Raising children oftentimes triggers our own childhood wounds. Therapy offers a safe space to explore how you want to be as a parent, not as you think  you “should”  be. Give yourself a “timeout”  to discover your own style of parenting your child, as well as yourself.
